đź–– How much tip on a US$495,000 meal
per person

No, you read that right.
The luxury company, Space Perspective, sends travellers 30km into the atmosphere in a capsule lifted by a weather balloon.
Spaceship Neptune is a six hour flight and offers a meal for $495,000… per person.
Making it the most expensive meal on Earth or in space.
Chef Rasmus Munk from 2-Michelin-starred Alchemist (which boasts a Green Star by the way) in Denmark will be preparing the meal that will be served as the sun rises over the curvature of the earth.
“I want to highlight food as a common thread in our human existence, and it will be truly meaningful to serve it while gazing down at the Earth’s curvature,”
So that’s pretty cool.
The ship seats eight plus the captain.
Guests rise up to 328,000 meters in the space capsule with wi-fi, of course, to document the trip.
If you’d prefer to not have the meal you can always purchase the US$125,000 ticket.
You’ll still get the view though.
Space Perspective plans to begin test flights this year and start commercial flights in 2025.
Proceeds from the first trip are being donated to promote the Space Prize by SpaceVIP.
They hold challenges all over the world to encourage young women to pursue STEM fields.
Just the beginning
Trips like these show space tourism in its infancy.
Balloons that take their time drifting up to Earth’s horizon. Or ships like Virgin Galactic that go up quickly then slowly make their way back down.
But you can see how close we’re getting to staying out there.
Especially if we’re now at the point where we are enjoying meals in the upper atmosphere.
That future I’ve been talking about?
It’s right within our grasp.
