Gardens that are more than you think

“It’s ok, Timothy. They’re just jealous,” she whispered to her tomato plant.

Don’t lie. 

You talk to your plants too. 

You love your veggies.

Your veggie garden gives you beautiful colours. And it’s your own little nutrition factory. But nutrients and colours won’t make you feel less alone. 

Truer still hurtling through deep space at 26,00kph (16,150mph) in an enclosed container for months on end. 

Last week I talked about NASA’s list of dangers for travellers- RIDGE. The first being space radiation. Growing food on missions actually helps with three other dangers:

  • Isolation and confinement

  • Distance from Earth

  • Hostile/Closed Environments

How’s food gonna help us with those?
